Opportunities are available for those interested in volunteering and providing hands on support at Melbourne Community Acupuncture. Volunteers assist us with day-to-day tasks that keep our clinic clean, comfortable, and efficient. Examples include front desk support, cleaning/ housekeeping, and distributing flyers. Volunteers enhance the cooperative spirit within a clinic, thereby creating a mutually beneficial relationship that is good for the entire community.
All volunteers at the clinic are members of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA). POCA is a cooperative owned by patients, organizations, clinics, acupuncturists and students. POCA organizes collective investments of time, energy, participation and money to allow the contributions of patients and community members to be accounted for and thereby improve access to affordable community acupuncture. POCA was developed to provide a structure within which community acupuncture patrons can contribute their time, skills, and enthusiasm to their local clinics, and get recognized for their contributions. Community acupuncture clinics would not be successful without the support of the communities they serve. Being a patient member of POCA is required for volunteering here at Melbourne Community Acupuncture. You can find out more and join POCA at pocacoop.com.
POCA community member volunteers keep our clinic running smoothly by bringing their skills to the front desk, cleaning, and more. Looking for an amazing opportunity to connect with your community, help spread the community acupuncture revolution, and support your health and well being in the process?
